  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped (plus extra for garnish))

Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Tortellini:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water before draining, then set aside.

2️⃣ Sauté the Shrimp:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season shrimp with salt and pepper.
  2. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

3️⃣ Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.

4️⃣ Combine:

  1. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat. Add the reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  2. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and gently mix.

5️⃣ Serve:

  1. Plate the shrimp tortellini, garnish with chopped parsley, and a sprinkle of extra Parmesan. Serve immediately and enjoy!
